eSync fails when the Ektron Windows Service does not start correctly. Debugging shows an exception reading "Service will retry has error System.InvalidOperationException: Cannot swallow exceptions for methods with non-null return type".
This article explains how to resolve the following error when using eSync.
"Error System.Security.Cryptography.CryptographicException: Keyset does not exist"
eSync requires that each database in a sync relationship have a unique ID. These server IDs are used to create unique content ranges per environment; keeping data from colliding during eSync.
Not only does each database have a server ID, but each database tracks the total number of databases involved in a specific eSync chain. This is the Share_Index. When these indexes are off, this error may occur.
After updating your web.config's connection string password, eSync no longer functions properly.
